Salary: $45,000 per annum

The Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Environmental Design at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Energy efficient, sustainable buildings and communities.

Job Description:

The candidate is expected to conduct the following:

  • Research related to improving energy efficiency in building and communities (including methods of energy generation, sharing of energies between buildings, etc.). Research methods might require programming and simulations using advanced energy programs such as EnergyPlus. TRNSYS, etc,
  • Assisting Dr. H-Vermette in the administration of research projects
  • Writing of papers, reports, as well as assisting in preparing grant applications

Qualifications:

The candidate should have a PhD in building engineering, mechanical engineering or related subjects. Accumulated expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, programming, energy systems, and/or building science/physics are needed to pursue research. The candidate should demonstrate the capacity of technical writing (having already published a number of journal and conference papers, in peer reviewed venues).The candidate should have the capability of working independently and/or within teams, as well as the ability of working, when needed, simultaneously on multiple tasks.
