Project Support Administrator, Research Accounting, Finance

Position Overview

Research Accounting within Finance is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Project Support Administrator.

This position reports to the Team Lead, Reporting, and will assist with administrative departmental needs and special projects. Research Accounting, a unit within the Finance portfolio, is responsible for post-award financial administration of all research funds at the University.

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Ensure high volume of departmental entry/filing/scanning is up-to-date on a daily basis
  • Collaborate with the Reporting team to ensure Financial Statements are sent to the funding agencies within reporting due date
  • Enter a variety of research related transactions into the PeopleSoft system
  • Complete project closing checklist and enter into PeopleSoft system
  • Provide administrative support to Research Accounting teams so that a high level of customer service is available to the university community
  • Keep filing system of related hard copy documents up-to-date
  • Send Financial statements to project owners appropriately
  • Follow-up with project owners to ensure financial statements are signed/submitted consistently
  • Scanning and filing of Team Authorization Forms in a timely manner
  • Act as main point of contact for service units (ISC, CCCR, satellite offices, etc) that require back-up documentation

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Completion of a level of education equal to Grade 12 and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Skill and ability in office computer applications, data entry and organization of work is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritize and manage their workload
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong administration abilities
  • Previous experience in an office environment is desirable
  • PeopleSoft knowledge is an asset
