Position Overview

The Department of Clinical Neurosciences in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Coordinator. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 2 years (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

Reports to the Principal Investigator.

 

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Under general supervision & direction of the PI, develop and implement data collection and analysis procedures within the guidelines of the research
  • Administer psychiatric screening and severity rating instruments
  • Conduct literature review, surveys, and other research for us in scholarly publications when required to
  • Data collection in a clinical setting- will involve contacting potential research participants and direct data collection from them
  • Data management- ensuring data collection forms are complete
  • Data entry in research database
  • Data analysis using STATA- background knowledge of statistics and use of statistical software programs preferable
  • Establishes and maintains effective, productive relationships with staff, peers, immediate supervisor and senior management and with the campus community
  • Manages own time effectively and ensures immediate reports to manager is kept informed of activities, and progress of work

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be open to learning and development, and be willing to accept new challenges and assignments
  • Previous experience in administration of psychiatric screening and rating instruments is desirable, or high motivation to undergo training in this area is required
  • Work with research participants for data collection
  • Demonstrated strong communication, and team working skills, and an ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet skills
  • Knowledge of University core business systems is desirable
  • Working knowledge of statistics and ability to use statistical software programs (STATA) is desirable
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are critical to success
