The Faculty of Arts, Department of Economics invites applications for an Associate Professor with Tenure in Tax Policy and Public Economics. This position includes a secondment to the School of Public Policy in the Fiscal and Economic Policy area. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2017.
The successful candidate is expected to play an important role in teaching courses on taxation and public finance and supervision of students in the Master of Public Policy program and form and maintain an active and externally funded research program. Service, primarily in the role of Scientific Director the School’s Fiscal and Economic Policy division, is also expected.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Economics and an established and active research program in Canadian tax policy and public programs financing. We are seeking a scholar with publications in quality peer-reviewed journals, along with policy publications and outreach activities focused on dissemination to broader audiences of decision-makers and practitioners. Evidence of an ability to secure external research funding is required. Evidence of excellence in teaching may be demonstrated via a strong statement of teaching philosophy and outstanding teaching evaluations. Relevant experience of university administration is highly desirable.
The Department of Economics and the School of Public Policy are research-intensive units with high standards in teaching, research and service.
