Position Overview

U of C Continuing Education is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term Corporate Training Program Advisor for approximately 12 months

This position reports to the Associate Director, Corporate Training, and Partnerships. The Corporate Training Programs Coordinator will provide a wide-range of tasks within the corporate training programs. The ability to have great attention to detail, manage time effectively, multi-task, and work in a collaborative environment, communicate effectively and handle a high volume of work during peak periods is essential to this position.

This position will be responsible for the operational and logistical aspects of program delivery within the corporate training team. The individual will act as an resource to ensure the open-enrolment and corporate training program is run efficiently. A demonstrated ability to take client inquiries, prepare proposals and lead small projects from conception to completion, involving multiple stakeholders and in-line with a strategic vision is an asset.
 

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Perform a variety of duties in support of the successful delivery and logistics of quality programs, conferences and events, and the on-going daily operations of the team
  • Assist the Corporate Training team with the successful development and delivery of customized corporate and open-enrolment programs within the University of Calgary Continuing Education, Corporate Training and Partnership Unit
  • Gather and compile best practices for corporate training and programming processes, procedures and identify continuous improvement areas
  • Assist Program Managers and Program Director with data input on program requirements, program policies and procedures, partnership and professional programs
  • Determine key program performance metrics with a view to identifying key indicators and areas of improvement
  • Track and report  Key Performance Indicators
  • Manage records in compliance with University policy (i.e. retention and destruction)
  • Accurately enter all course section information into the online registration system within the program areas assigned to their portfolio
  • Work closely with the Program Managers to ensure alignment with the operational details of the required program plans
  • Support the delivery of custom training programs and work with Associate Director to meet clients needs per defined project scope, developed curriculum/training products, delivery plan, and maintaining excellent levels of customer service
  • Establish strong working relationships with instructors and ensure all arrangements are in place for their delivery of a quality course including hiring and onboarding process, scheduling, cancellations, and any changes to program delivery such as course sections
  • Assist with the advertising and promotion of courses, programs, and promotional materials by using a wide variety of communication tools

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in adult education, HR, learning design, education, or leadership development
  • A degree or certificate in project management or a demonstrated ability to lead projects from conception to completion, involving multiple stakeholders and in-line with a strategic vision
  • At least 2 years experience in program and project coordination
  • Ability to write corporate training grants, proposals and prepare demos
  • Training industry experience related to corporate client relationship management and engagement
  • Demonstrated experience with data administration analytics and performance measurement systems (KPI tracking and reporting) with regards to corporate training
  • Demonstrated experience with the following technologies
  • Educational registration technology Desire2Learn (D2L) and Destiny-One (D1)
  • Project Management software tools such as Visio, Basecamp or others
  • Performance measurement systems (Business Intelligence Tools or KPI tracking and reporting) such as Tableau
  • Experience working within a corporate environment
  • Experience working within a diverse, student-focused environment is an asset
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills as well as strong interpersonal skills for working with C-level executives, workshop facilitators, and senior HR and business professionals
  • Willingness and ability to attend offsite client programs and client meetings at local and out-of-town locations as required
  • Good judgment, initiative, tact and diplomacy in dealing with the frequent interactions with corporate clients, students, instructors, staff, University departments and external organizations
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and have a keen attention to detail
  • Time management, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to be a collaborative team member
  • Strong written and verbal communication
