Position Overview
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is currently seeking a Full-time Regular DVM Program Analyst.
Reporting to the Manager, DVM Program Administration (Manager) in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM), this position plays a key role in supporting and advising faculty and staff on multiple systems, processes and projects related to the DVM Program, including evaluations, surveys, outcomes reporting, timetabling, D2L, curriculum management, etc. The DVM Program Analyst leads the development and support of new and existing technology applications related to the DVM program, and acts as the first point of contact for users, to provide support and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
The incumbent must be able to work independently and establish priorities to successfully complete multiple projects, while staying in close communication with other DVM Program Office team members. There is significant complexity associated with developing advisor-level expertise in all DVM program software applications and excellent problem-solving skills are required to provide support to users at all levels. The incumbent must be a strategic, big picture thinker, with the ability to also pay attention to the details. The ability to work with many different people and personalities, as well as strong communication skills are essential to liaise with faculty members (70+) and staff.
This is a full-time position. Hours expected are Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, with some flexibility expected in the scheduling of those hours to accommodate faculty schedules if necessary. There will be periods of intense activity with deadlines. There will be occasional evening/weekend events and a need to accommodate the schedules of others to meet people whenever it best suits them to complete the required tasks.
The position will be based at Foothills campus but will require occasional travel to Spy Hill campus and possibly main campus when needed. Access to reliable transportation is essential since faculty members are based at both campuses.
