Position Description

The University of Calgary's Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) is a multidisciplinary offering of the School of Public Policy in collaboration with the Schulich School of Engineering, the Haskayne School of Business, the Faculty of Law, and the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape. This interdisciplinary, comprehensive graduate program provides a holistic approach to energy and environmental management through a cross section of courses taught by faculty from across the university.

The SEDV Graduate Program invites applications for sessional instructor appointments to teach the following courses:

Summer 2023:

  • SEDV 631 - Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment in the Energy Sector

The concept of life cycle assessment (LCA) as it applies to energy production and consumption from an environmental and sustainability perspective; Use of LCA to support informed decision-making for improved environmental performance of energy projects and for avoiding problem-shifting and sub-optimization.

Position Requirements:

The SEDV Program is seeking a candidate with excellent teaching credentials and a demonstrated background in sustainable energy and environmental issues. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching, particularly at the post-graduate level, and ideally hold an earned doctoral degree in an area closely related to the particular course of interest. Previous involvement with the SEDV program is an asset.
