As part of the Inclusive Excellence Cluster Hiring Initiative, the Haskayne School of Business (HSB) at the University of Calgary invites applications for a continuing appointment at the rank of Associate Professor (with tenure) in International Business Strategy. This position is open to qualified women candidates. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2023, with an option to negotiate a later start.
The successful candidate will establish an active research program that focuses on International Business Strategy, and is aligned with the University of Calgary’s, and the HSB’s strategic plans. Additionally, the successful candidate will play an important role in teaching and research supervision of students in the Strategy and Global Management (SGMA) Area’s undergraduate and graduate programs. Service to the Area, faculty, University, and community is also expected.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a prolific and diverse research environment in the HSB, with access to state-of-the-art core infrastructure. Outstanding opportunities for collaboration are available with established research programs in international business and strategy. The position includes both teaching and research responsibilities, and will include expectations to recruit and supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
In SGMA, the successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to international business and/or strategic management. The normal teaching load in the Haskayne School of Business is four courses per year.
The successful applicant will be expected to conduct high-quality research, evidenced by publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, securing external research funding, and maintaining an active profile in their field. Graduate program contributions include both teaching and supervising students. Research support is offered to all new hires.
