Position Description
The Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Nursing Instructor to teach undergraduate level clinical courses within the community of St. Paul, Alberta, for Winter 2024:
WINTER SEMESTER (January 8 – April 9, 2024)
TERM 3 – NURS 289 (Integrating Nursing Roles and Practices I): Community Health
We are seeking applicants with rural nursing practice in community environments, particularly those with previous nursing education practice experience and experience working with Indigenous people. Practice education takes place both on and off campus. Scheduling varies and may include a combination of days and evening shifts, Monday through Friday. The successful applicants are required to be available during that entire period(s).
Sessional Instructors are provided with exceptional orientation, mentorship, and ongoing professional development. The amount of remuneration is calculated according to the Collective Agreement, Schedule B. Schedule:
Term 3 on-campus labs (Portage College St. Paul Campus): Wednesday 0900-1700
Term 3 off-campus clinical: Thursday 0800-1600; Friday 1300-1700)
Applicants who are interesting in teaching the lab or clinical alone are invited to apply. Please indicate in the cover letter if you are available for the lab, clinical, or both. The instructor will also be responsible to invigilate exams for on-campus students outside of the times below.

Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Candidates with BN/BScN preparation will be considered.
