Position Overview
The Department of Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Associate. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 4 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Operations Manager.
The Research Associate will extract data from published serosurveys, support new live data visualizations on the website, draft manuscripts for publication, and manage relationships with dashboard users.
Project Overview. SeroTracker is a data-driven public health platform mapping the true extent of the COVID-19 pandemic. We aggregate data from serosurveys, studies estimate the prevalence of antibodies against the virus that causes COVID.
This is a recurring part time position with variable hours. Recurring part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule.
Position Description
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
Extracts data from published serosurveys
Supports new live data visualizations on SeroTracker website
Liaises with stakeholders; developing and managing important relationships with dashboard users
Supports manuscript preparation and submission process
Responsible for reporting on projects and contributing to final reports
Performs complex analyses within appropriate timelines
Assumes responsibility for data security, confidentiality, and data accuracy
Participates in an environment conducive to world class development and scientific research
Provides leadership in data science, epidemiology concepts, and related content
Assist with plans and designs for specialized applications to meet the needs of operations, research, and services
Produce initial drafts of manuscripts for publication and appropriate scientific journals
Conduct literature review, surveys, data analysis and interpretation, laboratory experiments and other research for use in scholarly publications
