The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach Fall 2024 FNCE 343 LEC 01 (Personal Financial Management) on Mondays from 11:00- 13:45. Classes in the Fall 2024 semester run from September 3, 2024 to December 6, 2024. Registrar Scheduled Exams will take place between December 9, 2024 to December 19, 2024, if applicable.

The calendar description of the course:

“An introduction to personal financial management practices in Canada. Topics discussed may include goal setting, personal financial statements, the mathematics of personal finance, taxation, general and life insurance, retirement planning, investments, and estate planning. Completion of the course should enable students to properly prepare and plan their own financial future.” 


  • MBA degree or equivalent and work experience in the field are desirable
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience is a requirement
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have experience providing instruction face-to-face and online in a post-secondary setting
  • Experience in programs such as Zoom, D2L and other digital education products would be an asset
