The Faculty of Science invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach the following courses in the Fall 2024 and Winter 2025 term.

Science 505 Science Co-operative Education Courses

Students enrolled in Science 505 Co-operative education courses complete four months of full-time supervised and employer paid work, and a series of on-line Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and reflection modules.

Fall 2024

  • SCIE 505.01 ¿ Work Term 1

Winter 2025 

  • SCIE 505.01 ¿ Work Term 1
    SCIE 505.02 ¿ Work Term 2

The successful candidate will:

  • Support all students in SCIE 505, Work term 1, and Work term 2.
  • Create and submit Course Outlines by required deadlines.
  • Grade and provide appropriate feedback on all required online assessments.
  • Provide a minimum of 3 contact hours per week to support students with the online course materials and ongoing learning in their co-operative experience.
  • Create and facilitate curriculum discussions.
  • Maintain active communication and relationships with Science Careers and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) team to support students in their co-operative experience. 
  • Update/finalize grades and enter grades into PeopleSoft and Faculty Centre
  • Identify possible  update  for future course offerings.
  • Participate in Science Work Integrated Learning Advisory Committee

Course Hours: 3 units (4 months)

Contract dates: August 19, 2024 to April 30, 2025

Qualifications:

Applicants will have:

  • A graduate degree (MBA, MSc, DBA or PhD) or work experience in a relevant field is required.
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience delivering Work Integrated Learning courses.
  • Knowledge of Professional Skills or Career Development
