Description

The Department of Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Coordinator. This Full-time Fixed Term is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator.

The IMPACCT (IMProving Care and Outcomes Across the Childhood Cancer Trajectory) program aims to understand and reduce the long-term physical and psychosocial challenges faced by survivors of childhood cancer programs.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Execute and manage all assigned phases of projects within the program, including defining objectives and timelines
  • Lead the day-to-day operational aspects of the program, including identifying and resolving issues and conflicts
  • Prepare program-related communication (e.g. questionnaires, reports, briefings, correspondence, presentations, etc.) and manage the communication between various levels of collaborators and stakeholders
  • Assist the team and other researchers in the coordination and execution of multiple research studies, including administrative support, preparation of material for ethical review, data organization, organizing meetings, and establishing and maintaining Manual of Operations
  • Coordinate relevant knowledge translation outputs (e.g. websites, infographics, newsletters, brochures) with web/graphic designer(s)
  • Administer funds according to approved budgets and monitor monthly expenditures with existing administrative staff

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field is required
  • Masters in a health-related field will be considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and/or a proven track-record is essential
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification will be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of research and ethics standards, policies, and procedures
  • Experience with Data Management and working with REDCap is an asset
  • Must have high level skills in project management and coordination including planning, development, implementation, and evaluation, along with skills in organizational management and ability to manage multiple priorities and a heavy workload
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and interact respectfully with collaborators
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
