Description

The Associate Dean (Undergraduate Health and Science Education) and Department Head of Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine is accepting applications for a Sessional Instructor to coordinate and teach an undergraduate course, CORE 473: Social Justice and the Labour Force, in the Winter 2025 term.  

This class is taught virtually with no in-person sessions.  

Position Requirements:
Applicants with the following characteristics are encouraged to apply: 

  • a PhD with experience in community rehabilitation and disability studies  
  • prior university teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level 
  • prior experience in coordinating and teaching a virtual course using interactive approaches 
  • demonstrated academic and/or research experience related to community rehabilitation, disability studies and labour workforce participation
  • strong interpersonal skills  

The Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies program is an interdisciplinary platform of academic inquiry. The undergraduate programs builds skills in the domains of leadership development, community capacity building, innovation and multiple allies aimed at improving well-being of people with diverse abilities, promoting social change and building corresponding knowledge and theory.  For more information, please visit our website: https://cumming.ucalgary.ca/bcr
