Description
The ERP Finance Team within Finance is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Junior PeopleSoft FSCM Application and Workflow Analyst.
This position is within the PeopleSoft Support team for Finance and Supply Chain Management Application areas. Reporting to the Senior Manager of ERP Finance, this team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing PeopleSoft systems. Work includes finance workflow management, analyzing business requirements, designing, testing, and implementing solutions, which may include business process changes, configuration changes, modifications to existing functionality, or new functionality within the PeopleSoft FSCM application. The work environment is moderately stressful as the role deals with ambiguity, a diverse end user base and requires complex problem solving at times. There may be situations that require the employee to work outside of and in addition to core business hours (e.g., resolving a critical problem, validating a system change).
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
FSCM System Maintenance and Support
- Design approved solutions in collaboration with IT Application Developers.
- Have responsibility for system configuration and reconfiguration for one or more modules, and test thoroughly, using scenarios, scripts and data to validate the development/configuration against the design specifications.
- Implement tested solution into production environment using appropriate change control procedures.
- Support and maintain the PeopleSoft system, by resolving issues and applying updates in order that the various modules are kept up-to-date, and working as intended.
- Participate in the testing and approval of IT-specific projects in the FSCM system such as version upgrades, application of maintenance packs/bundles, Oracle database upgrades, PeopleTools upgrades, Cobol upgrades, implementation of IT specific applications such as the PeopleSoft Portal.
- Investigate, clarify and fully resolve user issues, including Workflow and Delegation, in a timely manner, coordinating solution with various other support units and external departments as required to ensure continued business operation.
- Provide recommendations and direct support to all users specifically on the delegation of Finance transactions in PeopleSoft, as well as the approval and reassignment of Finance Transactions as required.
Testing and Reporting
- Develop Testing Criteria, Scripts and Test Plans required to ensure that system changes and enhancements function as designed.
- Test solutions thoroughly using scenarios, scripts, and data to validate the development and/or configuration against the design specifications, under the guidance of more senior analysts, and in collaboration with IT Application Developers.
- Participate in cross-functional troubleshooting, analysis and testing with other PeopleSoft functional streams and IT units (e.g. Finance, Student, Enterprise Reporting).
- Design and build PeopleSoft queries across applications to access table-based data based on Finance business unit requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Senior Functional Analysts and the ERP Development team on advanced queries.
- Issues/resolution options are logged in the ServiceNow and/or IT ADSM Change Management system.
- Requirements are fully documented and logged in the IT ADSM Documentation Library.
- Create process and procedures for configuration and business process flows.
Business Analysis
- Analyze business requirements thoroughly and apply delivered functionality fit-gap analysis to evaluate and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Communicate changes and enhancements to end users and training developers to improve consistency of usage across units and departments
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Completion of an Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
- A combination of IT or business experience, training and education may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive responsibility as a subject matter expert user and/or functional analyst within PeopleSoft Finance and Supply Chain Management (FSCM) in a large, complex organization.
- Experience documenting business requirements and workflows, analyzing functional requirements, testing, and making suggestions for business process improvements.
- Working Knowledge of PeopleSoft Finance and Supply Chain Management (FSCM 9.2) from a user or functional perspective.
- Familiarity with Procurement and/or Account Payable module is an asset.
- Experience supporting PeopleSoft system interfaces is an asset.
- Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Security and general knowledge of industry standards.
- Working to intermediate knowledge of SQL, PeopleSoft Query and PS SQL. Knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Power BI, and SharePoint is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, using diplomacy, good judgement and negotiation skills to seek satisfactory outcomes.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Customer service oriented, with the ability to translate technical jargon into business-friendly language and provide effective advice, information, and assistance to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively and interact respectfully and persuasively with a variety of internal and external contacts.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
