The Communications Team in Student Experience and Support is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term Web Assistant for approximately 12 months.

The Web Assistant reports to the Director, Student Experience Strategy, Marketing and Communications, Student Experience and Support (formerly Student and Enrolment Services) and is responsible for supporting the technical development and administration of websites across Student Experience and Support (SES). The role involves making minor edits and updates, assisting with quality assurance (QA) activities, including bug and link checking, ensuring web content accuracy, and resolving issues. The Web Assistant works independently but collaborates closely with the Web Communications Specialist, Production Specialist and the Director, Student Experience Strategy, Marketing and Communications to align with SES marketing and communication goals.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Make minor edits and updates to SES websites as required.
  • Assist with QA activities, including ensuring web content and important dates are accurate, bug and link checking, and resolving issues.
  • Provide general web support during the redevelopment of Student and Enrolment Services websites.
  • Work closely with the Web Communications Specialist, Production Specialist and Director, Student Experience Strategy, Marketing and Communications to align web updates with SES goals.
     

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Developed skills through formal training or on-the-job experience.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of web-based design and programming.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., Drupal).
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within established procedures.
  • No formal education is required, but related training or experience is preferred.
