The Department of Biological Sciences within the Faculty of Science invites applications for a Winter 2025 Term Sessional Instructor.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities for lecture instruction, labs, and any other associated duties for this 3-unit course during the Winter 2025 term.

ZOOL 401 - An Introduction to Invertebrate Zoology
Natural history and diversity of invertebrates, which include sponges, corals, jellyfish, snails, octopus, insects, crustaceans, sea stars, and various worms. Emphasis on how free-living and parasitic organisms feed, move, reproduce, and survive in marine, freshwater, and terrestrial habitats.

Teaching Schedule: MWF 15:00-15:50

Delivery Mode: All course components will be delivered in-person.

Winter 2025 Term Dates: Monday, January 6, 2025 to Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate requires a minimum of an MSc in one of the biological sciences, with a PhD preferred. The candidate should have experience in invertebrate zoology, including research, professional experience, and/or coursework in invertebrate zoology, evolution, physiology, ecology, or conservation. They also require evidence of teaching effectiveness and previous teaching experience, preferably in this course.
