The Libin Cardiovascular Institute in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Junior Data Engineer. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 1 year (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
The Libin Precision Medicine Initiative (LPMI) is a flagship program of the Libin Cardiovascular Institute. LPMI is dedicated to supporting the membership of the Libin Cardiovascular Institute and advancing the field of precision medicine for cardiac research and care. The nature of the team and position require creative problem-solving, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and navigate competing priorities. The position requires initiative, desire to learn, and the ability to work with a diversity of stakeholders at multiple institutions and in both clinical and research environments.
Based at the Foothills Campus, the LPMI team includes cardiac, data, research, and program professionals who work collaboratively across the Libin Cardiovascular Institute, University of Calgary, Alberta Health Services, and external partners to deliver an innovative data access, pipeline, management, and delivery system to accelerate research innovation.
This position reports to the Associate Director, LPMI with supervision and delegation by the Sr Data Engineer.
The Jr Data Engineer will provide ongoing support of an innovative cardiac data management pipeline for cardiac research. This process supports the transfer of data from the clinical to the research environment via an efficient data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) process that facilitates large scare clinical research.
