The Werklund School of Education, School and Applied Child Psychology, at the University of Calgary (U of C) is accepting applications for an interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Scholar (PDS) in intervention research focused on addressing stress and trauma for youth (age 12-18) living in police families. The duration of the position is one (1) year with a competitive PDS salary.
Job Description:
The PDS will be supervised by Dr. Kelly Dean Schwartz. As part of a larger research team, the PDS will be mentored as an integral member of a research team supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of a psychoeducation and support program for youth living in police families.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the data analysis and management, as well as development of deliverables (e.g., manuscripts, conference presentations) focused on the primary aims of the grant.
- Work as an integral member of a research team to coordinate stakeholder/knowledge-user engagement, as well as facilitate study recruitment and data collection initiatives.
- Provide mentorship to graduate research assistants.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree (awarded within last 5 years) in educational psychology (counselling or school/child clinical), clinical psychology or related field;
- Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative research experience (i.e., publications) with intervention research, multivariate statistics, and/or multi-wave modeling;
- Clinical experience with children and or/adolescents regarding operational stress and/or complex trauma preferred;
- Registration (or eligibility) as a health professional in Alberta, Canada.
