The Haskayne School of Business is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term Specialist, Graduate Programs for approximately 1 year.
Haskayne is growing its graduate programs and is looking for opportunities where it can provide unique offerings including work integrated learning. As part of the expansion, the Specialist, Graduate Programs is tasked with facilitating further growth of graduate programs by supporting all existing academic aspects of Haskayne's professional graduate programs. This includes providing support with operations and all aspects of program development of new professional graduate credentials. This role requires exceptional project management and communication skills as well as an ability to manage stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
The Specialist, Graduate Programs provides support to ensure the effective academic delivery and assessment of all Haskayne graduate professional programs. This role will be critical in supporting the approval process for curriculum and program changes. This role handles complex situations and requires a broad knowledge of university processes associated with program approvals and standards. The Specialist, Graduate Programs reports to the Manager, Graduate Programs and works with all members of the Professional Graduate Programs team, as well as the Associate Dean, Professional Graduate Programs, and program directors.
Stressors include dealing with the demands of competing deadlines including managing multiple project implementations simultaneously. This role requires strong communication skills as the incumbent is expected to communicate with multiple stakeholders in a professional and productive manner regardless of external and internal pressures. This position requires high-level, discretionary decision-making and the ability to work independently.
Due to the operational requirements of this position, the incumbent is expected to work predominantly in-office. This is a Limited Term, Full-Time position for a term of approximately 12 months. The primary hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, 7 hours per day (35 hours per week); however, there may be a demand to work outside of these hours. The Specialist, Graduate Programs is part of the AUPE Collective Bargaining Unit.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
The primary purpose of the position is to ensure that Haskayne School of Business has the support necessary to fulfill the goal of developing, maintaining and delivering the most effective portfolio of graduate professional management programs in Canada.
Key functions of the Specialist, Graduate Programs include supporting all graduate programs' academic functions, assisting in the development and launch of new graduate programs and credentials, and assisting in designing and maintaining contemporary graduate curriculum.
This position liaises with student administration specialists from other faculties, departments, universities, stakeholders, and student resource units.
