Dr. Brae Anne McArthur, Director of the University of Calgary Psychology Clinic and the Trailblazing 
Research for Equitable Care (TREC) Lab at the University of Calgary, is seeking a highly motivated 
Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) to join the TREC team. The PDF will focus on community-engaged 
research aimed at addressing inequality in access to mental health care for marginalized groups, 
with a strong focus on 2SLGBTQIA and newcomer communities, as well as preventative approaches 
to promote positive mental health in children and youth (e.g., community mentorship [BBBS] and 
mental health literacy programs). Outside of the abovementioned projects, there will be 
opportunity to launch or engage in additional research studies of interest.

Job Description:

The PDF will work in a highly collaborative lab environment with graduate students, research 
assistants, undergraduates, and volunteers. Responsibilities include preparing and cleaning 
existing datasets for analysis, conducting advanced statistical analyses, writing manuscripts, 
participating in grant writing, and overseeing targeted lab studies. Additionally, the PDS will have 
opportunities to develop skills in undergraduate teaching, supervising honors students, engaging in 
knowledge mobilization (e.g., publications, community outreach, opinion editorials), and 
contributing to professional development activities within the lab. The PDF may also be supported 
to pursue professional registration as a Psychologist in Alberta, if applicable.

Qualifications:

¿ PhD in Psychology, Population & Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field
¿ Strong quantitative skills
¿ Qualitative skills are an asset
¿ Familiarity with R and/or MPlus 
¿ Experience with longitudinal data and/or community engaged research is an asset
¿ Content expertise in developmental psychopathology or youth/young adult mental health
¿ Proven track record of publications in refereed journals
¿ Advanced writing and editing skills
¿ Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills for data collection, processing, 
and summarization
¿ Effective collaborator and team player
