The Department of Physiology & Pharmacology and Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Cardiovascular Sciences.
Job Description:
A postdoctoral scholar position is available at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta and Department of Physiology and Pharmacology for a highly qualified and motivated individual to support our projects focused on the identification of molecular mechanisms of various Cardiovascular diseases. The successful candidate must have a strong background in murine models of heart failure and vascular diseases.
The candidate will work on research projects investigating the roles of exosomes in intercellular communications and their impact on cardiovascular disease. Experimental approaches and tools will include transgenic mice, human specimens, progenitor cell isolations, next-gen sequencing/bioinformatics, cardiovascular phenotyping, and cellular and molecular biology. The postdoctoral scholar will also have access to state-of-the-art core centers to perform cutting-edge research. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
