We are seeking a Regular full-time Senior Manager, HR Partnerships to build and lead a dynamic team of HR Business Partners who are embedded in the heart of our faculties and units. This role isn't about maintaining the status quo - it's about building trust, enabling transformation, and bringing strategy to life through people.

About the Role

As a key member of the HR Partnerships leadership team, you'll:

  • Coach and empower a team of HR Partners to be strategic, courageous, and collaborative in how they support our clients.
  • Advise executive and senior leaders on high-risk, high-impact workforce matters - from organizational change and leadership transitions to complex employee relations.
  • Role model HR excellence, combining institutional acumen, political savvy, and a deep commitment to both leader success and employee well-being.
  • Drive service improvement by aligning HR support with university strategy, simplifying complexity, and elevating the client experience.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, develop, and support a team of HR Partners with compassion, clarity, and a focus on growth.
  • Serve as a senior HR advisor for complex and politically nuanced issues.
  • Build strong partnerships with COEs, Labour Relations, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive, institutionally aligned HR support.
  • Translate institutional strategy into people solutions that support academic planning, research excellence, and service innovation.
  • Foster a culture of trust, inclusion, and continuous learning within your team and across People and Culture.

What your Bring

  • 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, including a minimum of 5 years experience in team leadership and senior advisory roles.
  • Experience in unionized and complex institutional settings (post-secondary or public sector preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, manage risk, and balance strategy with empathy.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, coaching, and communication skills.
  • A degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations or related field. CPHR designation is required.
