Sessional Instructor, DRAM 210 Introduction to Acting II, Faculty of Arts

Position Description

Applications are invited to teach the following two courses in the Winter 2019 session for the Division of Drama, School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA). Lectures for the Winter 2019 term run from Jan. 10 to Apr. 12, 2019.

NOTE: THE FOLLOWING COURSE OFFERING IS TENTATIVE, PENDING FUNDING AND SUFFICIENT ENROLMENTS.

DRAM 210 Introduction to Acting II

Current Offerings:

Winter 2019 SEM S01 Mon 09:00-11:50 a.m., LAB B01 Wed 09:00-10:50 a.m.
Sessional hired at 1.0 HCE

Winter 2019 SEM S02 Mon 1:00-3:50 p.m., LAB B02 Wed 1:00-3:50 p.m.
Sessional hired at 1.0 HCE

Course Description: An introduction to the actor's interpretation and performance of texts for the theatre.

Course Hours: 3 units; H(3S-2)

Prerequisite(s): Drama 209

Antirequisite(s): Credit for Drama 210 and 200 will not be allowed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • M.F.A. in Drama or advanced professional training with significant professional experience
  • Significant teaching experience and demonstrated ability to deliver acting curriculum at the post-secondary level
  • Experience in theatre performance
  • Contemporary practice as an artist

3. description of your qualifications in support of each course you are interested in teaching, as well as any restrictions (e.g. scheduling day or time constraints) that would need to be taken into consideration
