Position Description

The Department of Economics invites applications for sessional instructors to teach the following courses in Spring/Summer 2019:

Position Requirements:

  • PhD in economics or a related field is preferred, although strong candidates with an MA may also be considered
  • Evidence of successful teaching
  • Leadership experience in a university setting

  • Current CV
  • Proof of educational credentials
  • Statement of teaching philosophy and methods
  • Names and descriptions of past courses you have taught
  • Teaching evaluations from a course you have taught and/or for which you have served as a Teaching Assistant
  • Student Evaluations (if available)

Please also arrange to have three reference letters forwarded directly to Dr. R. Oxoby, Department Head, Department of Economics.

Sessional positions are offered on a per course basis. Please see The Faculty Association of the University of Calgary (TUCFA) website for further information regarding conditions of employment and remuneration. As per the Collective Agreement, the Department of Economics adheres to the right of first refusal terms (Section 23.12.1 and 23.12.2) for Sessional Appointments. We reserve the right to change dates/times and courses offered. Course offerings are tentative pending sufficient student enrollment.
