The Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Design, synthesis, and prediction/optimization via machine learning of soluble organic light emitting materials for LED devices

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be primarily focused on hands-on synthetic chemistry. No prior experience in machine learning is necessary, but the successful candidate should be excited about learning these new approaches. The candidate will be required to work within a team environment, thus excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of interdisciplinary researchers is required.    


PhD in chemistry or materials science with experience in synthetic organic chemistry. This experience may be in the context of organic materials synthesis or other types of small molecule chemistry (total synthesis, catalysis, medicinal chemistry, etc.).
