The Department of Ecosystem Public Health in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in virology.
Job Description:
The Careem Lab is seeking a postdoctoral scholar with a track record of productivity to work in an exciting project in collaboration with an industry partner conducting innovative and applied research in the area of antiviral compound testing against SARS-CoV-2. While this position is supported by funds from industry and other grants, excellent candidates will be encouraged to apply for prestigious Mitacs industrial fellowship.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent (completed in the last 3 years) in virology, viral immunology or a related field. Experience in handing pathogens at containment level 3 environment is an asset, but candidates with strong technical skills and experience of working in containment level 2 laboratories will also be considered.
