Position Overview
The Integrated Service Centre is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Analyst, ERP System.
This position is within the PeopleSoft Support team for the Integrated Service Centre in the Finance Application Analyst area. This team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the PeopleSoft system. This work includes analyzing business requirements and designing, testing and implementing solutions, which may include business process changes, modifications to existing functionality, or new functionality within the PeopleSoft application. Work arises from observed issues/problems with the current system, and requests for enhancements or new functionality. Work also arises through planned maintenance, configuration and upgrades which are required to resolve issues or maintain currency of the system. In addition, work arises from the business plan and the objectives of the organization and the Finance and IT departments.
This position reports to the Manager.
Position Description
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Design approved solutions in collaboration with IT Application Developers, have primary responsibility for system configuration and reconfiguration for one or more modules, and test thoroughly, using scenarios, scripts and data to validate the development/configuration against the design specifications
- Implement tested solution into production environment using appropriate change control procedures.
- Support and maintain the PeopleSoft system, by resolving issues and applying updates in order that the various modules are kept up-to-date, and working as intended.
- Participate in the testing and approval of IT-specific projects in the FSCM system such as version upgrades, application of maintenance packs/bundles, Oracle database upgrades, PeopleTools upgrades, Cobol upgrades, implementation of IT specific applications such as the PeopleSoft Portal
- Analyze business requirements thoroughly to evaluate and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Plan and lead PeopleSoft projects, providing guidance to more junior Application Consultants in order to improve the effective functioning of the team.
- Develop all Testing Criteria , Scripts and Testing Plans required to ensure that system changes and enhancements function as designed
- All application enhancements will be Tested according to the System Test Plan and signed off prior to User Acceptance Testing
- Project status updates and timesheets are submitted to the Manager, Financial Systems
- Issues/resolution options are logged in the IT ADSM Change Management system
- Deliverable reviews and sign-offs are obtained on a timely basis
- Quality control reviews are conducted with the Senior Architect and Manager, Financial Systems for:
- Requirements documentation review
- Fit Gap review
- Test script and plan review
- Test execution and defect resolution review
- Security review (if applicable)
- Migration Request review
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Completion of a Undergraduate Degree preferred
- Masters level knowledge of functional analysis and design in one or more PeopleSoft focus area modules, including experience with configurable tables and custom processes.
- Advanced level knowledge of PeopleSoft process and best practice as well as current business process best practice as applicable to the specific focus area modules.
- Well rounded knowledge of all aspects of the Oracle PeopleSoft Finance and Supply Chain Application from both a technical and functional perspective. Version 9.1+ experience would be an asset.
- Experience supporting PeopleSoft system interfaces.
- Experience with PeopleSoft Security and general know of industry standards
- A combination of experience, training and education will be considered
- Customer service oriented
- Team player - willing to collaborate with other team members and user departments to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
- Ability to follow rigorous project management practices and methodology.
- Strong technical background in the field of Information Technology is an asset
- Advanced knowledge of a variety of software including MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, SQL and Query Tools is an asset
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
