Position Description
The School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures invites applications to teach the following course in the upcoming Fall session.*
ALMC 358.01 LEC 01 TR 12:30-13:45 and LAB B01 T 15:30-18:15 Muslim Cultures Through Film
Application Details: The University of Calgary will use online modes of course delivery in the fall term. The instructor of this course should be comfortable with online modes of course delivery and students' remote learning. The instructor will be responsible for thoughtful course design and meaningful opportunities for student engagement. Candidates must have an educational background that includes the study of literatures of Muslim societies. Experience teaching at a North American university is required. Qualified applicants interested in teaching this course should submit a complete application if the School of LLLC does not already have it on file: a cover letter addressed to Dr. Mushegh Asatryan, Chair of the Division of German Studies, Russian Studies & Arabic Languages and Muslim Cultures (including a short description of topics you would cover in the course, and relevant teaching experience), a current curriculum vitae, a tentative outline of the course (outlines are available on the department's website and can be used as models for your own), course syllabi (courses previously taught), and teaching evaluations, if available. Materials should be submitted electronically in .pdf format to the email address below. Applicants should also arrange to have 3 letters of recommendation sent directly to the email address below. At least 1 of the 3 letters must directly address the applicant's teaching ability.
