Position Description
The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor position in Biochemistry 543 (Enzymology) during the Fall 2020 session.
BCEM 543 deals with the structure, mechanisms and biological interactions of enzymes. Binding, catalysis, rates and regulation are discussed with regard to chemical principles of kinetics and reaction. The principles of enzyme action are considered in the context of the biological role that enzymes play.
The appointee will have responsibilities for instruction and associated duties for all of this 3-unit course, which will be offered via online delivery modes. There are no laboratories or tutorials associated with this course.
The successful candidate requires a minimum of an MSc in biochemistry, with a PhD preferred. They also require evidence of teaching effectiveness and previous teaching experience, preferably in this course. Previous experience in teaching through online delivery modes will be viewed as an asset.
