The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary invites applications for a Sessional Instructor position to teach the following course online/web-based in Fall 2020:
ENCI 471 - Project Management I
Lecture 01 Monday, Wednesday 17:00-18:15
Tut 01 Wednesday 18:30-20:20

ENCI 471 Project Management I
Introduces techniques that provide rational solutions to a range of project management decision-making problems encountered in engineering projects. Students are expected to gain a detailed understanding of some of the techniques, tools and processes available and their application in planning and managing engineering and construction projects. The course covers project management fundamentals including project planning and scheduling techniques, cash flow forecasting, performance evaluations and decision analysis. Introduction to operations research.
The successful candidate will be expected to have earned at least a Masters degree in civil engineering and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to the course. The successful candidate must also have very good previous teaching performance or show the potential for very good to excellent teaching ability, and a strong commitment to engineering education.
The programs offered by the Department of Civil Engineering are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). To maintain the accreditation of our programs, faculty are required to be licensed to practice engineering in Alberta. The successful candidate will be expected to hold professional engineering licensure with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or with the equivalent association in another Canadian province.
