Position Description

The Faculty of Kinesiology invites applications for a Part-time Personal Trainer.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related degree
  • Their CSEP Certified Personal Trainer or Clinical Exercise Physiologist designation
  • NSCA Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification considered an asset
  • Group fitness class experience considered an asset
  • Current standard First Aid and CPR-C certified

The personal trainer will:

  • Administer fitness appraisals following CSEP protocols
  • Be proficient in designing and implementing training programs for a wide variety of clientele (general population, athletic, youth, and chronic conditions)
  • Work in both one-on-one and in small group settings to help clients achieve their health and fitness goals
  • Possess excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills
  • Be professional, punctual, and reliable
  • Be available to work flexible hours

The successful candidate will be required to work some evenings and weekends as required. Total hours will vary dependent on client referrals, but you can expect to work between 8-12 hours/week, with the possibility of increasing hours and number of clients as you establish yourself in your role.
