Position Description
The Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary, invites applications for an appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or the rank of Associate Professor (with tenure), with research, professional practice, and teaching experience in the area of Educational Leadership, Policy and Governance. The appointments will commence July 1, 2022, or at a mutually agreeable date.
Building on the current strengths of our leadership expertise in both K-12 and post-secondary leadership, preference will be given to applicants who have particular expertise in the following area:
Educational policy and analysis. Conceptualizing, implementing and evaluating educational policy remains a critical part of educational leadership. A candidate who has research expertise in understanding key educational policy trends, or in the implementation or evaluation of educational policy and practices is central to advancing excellence of education in the respective educational jurisdictions/authorities. Candidates who have interdisciplinary expertise in ethics, law, or philosophy would also be an asset.

Applicants at the assistant professor level must present evidence of an on-going research program beyond the doctoral dissertation, a publication record, evidence of successful teaching, and evidence of some engagement with professional and other communities.
Applicants at the associate professor level must provide evidence of an established, externally funded research program, a strong publication record, evidence of successful teaching and graduate supervision, and evidence of established academic collaborations and engagement in professional and other communities.
